Holiday Open House at Oakland Museum

The Nelson County Historical Society’s Christmas Open House at Oakland Museum will be on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring Kim and Jimbo Cary performing and holiday refreshments. The Cary’s will sing and play songs and tunes popular throughout Virginia in years past on banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, jaw harp and other instruments. Oakland is located at 5365 Thomas Nelson Highway (U.DS. 29) across from Tye River Elementary School. The museum’s program is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated. The museum will close for the winter after Dec. 13 and reopen in March.
