Free Fishing Days in Virginia

The joy of fishing the beautiful lakes, rivers and streams in Virginia is priceless, but for one special weekend in June, it’s free.
Each year, the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources offers Free Fishing Days as a way to encourage beginners to get hooked on fishing, and for anglers to introduce their kids, relatives and friends to their favorite outdoor activity. On June 7 – 9, 2024, anyone can fish in Virginia without purchasing a license.
